Tackling job lossesin Limerick region

The scale of job losses in Limerick must be documented by a local agency in order to gain an accurate picture of the downturn in the regional economy.

In Limerick alone we seem to have agencies like Enterprise Ireland, Shannon Development and the local enterprise boards along with regional authorities all concerned with job creation.

No one seems to be keeping track of the job losses — at least if we knew the industries being affected by the down turn and where the job losses are occurring we could prepare emergency plans to tackle the problem.
