Political outrage over one blunder

Your front page (May 5) had me somewhere between laughter and outrage.

The impertinence of any politician to say that RTÉ will have to work hard to regain public trust. After one blunder? And even that against a member of an organisation famed for decades for its brutality to children and its dishonesty.

And how many blunders have our politicians made over the last 5, 10, 50 years against thousands of members of an entirely innocent group — the Irish taxpayer? Pots, kettles and black to politicians.

Would that dozens of your sort had resigned, as Aoife Kavanagh has done, over that solitary blunder.

Get the Irish economy sorted out and then we might worry about RTÉ and maybe, just maybe, recover a little trust in our political system and many very highly-paid blunderers.
