We are on the cusp of considerable change in how our schools are managed or even defined.

This evolution is overdue and inevitable. Aspects of this realignment might be painful but the process could inspire everyone involved and, eventually, be socially reinvigorating. This could be one rising tide that does lift all boats.

The challenge is to create a better, more broadly based education system. A system that allows pupils and teachers to realise their potential in a satisfying and fulfilling environment but one that also actively supports accountability and recognises conflicting beliefs.
