Article could be used to justify more cutbacks

As a parent of a child with autism and four other children, I would like to express my dismay at the article by Tony Humphreys (Feelgood, Feb 3), claiming that myself and other such parents, “live predominantly in their heads and possess few or no heart qualities”.

He goes on to suggest that we are actually the cause of our children’s condition and that autism doesn’t really exist.

Perhaps he could explain why none of my other children have autism because without that explanation, his whole thesis makes absolutely no sense.

By the way, I love all my children dearly. The big problem with this article is that it is written by a qualified psychologist. It may very well be quoted in Government circles in order to justify the latest cutbacks to services and funding.
