Young drinking scourge

OVER the Christmas period there has have been a number of deaths caused by drug-taking youths.

Young drinking scourge

These drugs are mainly a mixture of cheap liquor accompanied by so-called soft drinks that consist of abnormal amounts of caffeine. The young adults who have consumed these lethal cocktails are “wired to the moon” and are killing innocent and blameless young people who have had the misfortune of coming into the vicinity of these weekend psychopaths.

We need to start an education process for the parents and for these young adults, combined with a complete ban on low or below-priced alcohol and similar promotional events in nightclubs. We also need to monitor late-night takeaways for rowdiness and the litter problem on our streets. There should be zero tolerance by all for public and private drunkenness at whatever age level and more opportunities for young people to gather socially like their mainland European counterparts without the need to be “oiled up” with drink.
