Heavy burden for pupils

MY 13-year-old daughter’s school bag weighs just under two stone.

I reported it to the Health and Safety Authority, which said “The Health and Safety Authority’s remit only extends to workplace and employment health and safety”. But schools are also workplaces. This issue has been highlighted by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and the National Parents’ Council of Post Primary Schools.
