They, for the large part, are happy and normal. Some may face the world with a degree of trepidation in a way that is entirely normal. They worry about friends and friendship, obesity and the threat of bullying. How could it be any different?

It is equally unsurprising that children of separated parents found it difficult to sustain a relationship with their non-resident parent. However, it is heartening to learn that the great majority of the nine-year-olds surveyed spoke readily and happily about their daily lives and their plans for the future.
