I BELIEVE the rent our Government is paying Treasury Holdings for the new Convention Centre is of the order of about €25m per annum for the next 20 years — that’s €500m.

This would make a significant dent in the nearly €1 billion of Treasury debt that NAMA (we) took over.

Lawyers would rightly claim reneging on this rent would be illegal.
