An apology should only be the beginning
I felt that a great weight had been lifted from my shoulders.
The truth at last.
I know that we have a long way to go to put our beloved church on the right track, to let our so called superiors know that we want to serve God not mammon.
I have written a letter to Archbishop Dermot Clifford demanding to be informed about any possible contenders for the post of Bishop of Cloyne, and stated that priests and the people of the diocese want to be part of this procedure.
We do not want any more unsuitable people foisted on us from the Vatican.
When I come out of the cathedral in Cobh, I cannot help but see the bishop’s palace opposite.
So as I look at this splendid residence, I thought wouldn’t this make a splendid haven for the victims of abuse. Many are homeless, some are disabled others have lost hope.
