Excellent value

REGARDING local government subsidised canteens — this morning I had tea and a very nice scone in the restaurant in Cork’s County Hall.

I worked out that if I and three colleagues shared a return taxi from the city centre to Co Hall each morning, we could have tea and scone for €5 each, including taxi fare. Now that’s value.
