Flood-prone area should not be zoned

IN recent years an area of Bandon, known locally as the bogs, was developed with a shopping centre built on it.

At the time local people knew that development in this area was wrong, but they were ignored.

The result was that the worst floods Bandon has ever seen occurred in 2009.
