Show some humanity

THERE was some pondering lately on why so few women enter politics.

The answer might be partly explained in Tom Cooper’s letter (March 21) where he suggests that we all watch the spot to see if a defeated Mary Hanafin will in fact hasten back to her teaching career after Oireachtas leave.

On a human level, I would suggest to her that she take time out because regardless of what your politics is, it is not pleasant to lose your seat.
