THE fact that the reactors in trouble in Japan are over 40 years old and holding up very well to such an assault goes unsaid. Back then modern technology was in its infancy.

Had this industry been allowed evolve, the much more menacing threat of climate change would be further away from all of us today.

Also, the worst-case death rate from possible meltdowns will probably be a fraction of what nature caused. Some dangers, it seems, are more equal than others.
