Referendum needed

MICHAEL FLYNN misunderstands the constitution of this country when he complains about the fact that we have to vote in a referendum to abolish the senate (March 7).

Referendum needed

Some decisions can be passed by a majority of the Oireachtas. Others, including changes to the EU constitution or the abolition of the senate, have to go to a referendum of all the people.

I disagree with Michael Flynn and think that it is right that such important changes have to be approved by all the people.
