Time to finally vote with our heads

AS a resident of Youghal, it saddens me greatly to see the state the town has got into due to the negligence and wilful neglect of successive Fianna Fáil governments down through the years.

Time to finally vote with our heads

What saddens me more is that, despite this neglect, the people of Youghal, election after election, repeatedly re-elect the same people that have caused horrendous unemployment in the town. Youghal, has always been known as a “Fianna Fáil town”, but more recently Youghal has become a “Fianna Fáil/ Sinn Féin town”, with five out of nine councillors having been elected from these two parties at the last local election. The message that we are sending out is that, no matter how badly treated we are, or how disadvantaged the town has become, we will still vote for the same old faces (FF) or, more worryingly, we will vote for a party that hasn’t a shred of economic savvy to get us out of our predicament (SF). The people of Youghal at this election have an opportunity to send a signal that we want change. Fianna Fáil have done nothing to help us, Sinn Féin does not have the ability to help us. Let us vote today with our heads for a change.
