Kanturk community sets the right example

THIS week it was reported that the small town of Kanturk in North Cork has managed to virtually beat the recession. This doesn’t exactly put the rest of us to shame, but it does set an example for the entire country.

Over the last two years as many as 22 new businesses have been opened in Kanturk through a brand of community spirit that is truly commendable.

Kanturk’s Chamber of Commerce started an initiative to actively promote local shopping.
