Tale of two economies

ENTERPRISE Minister Batt O’Keeffe’s article (November 11) is both worrying and confusing. He writes: “Ireland has two economies” – one is the “real economy”, the other the “fiscal economy”.

Tale of two economies

He is right about there being a real economy. Labour has been telling the Government this for the past two years. Unfortunately for everyone, they have not listened.

Government policy has been focused on the netherworld economy in which holders of stocks and bonds have primacy. Minister O’Keefe failed to mention the social economy.
