Pension scheme survey - Urgent need for remedial action

FOLLOWING the reckless behaviour of the cabal who ran Anglo Irish Bank into the ground, dragging the country’s economy down with them, taxpayers will be incensed by today’s revelation concerning the healthy state of the bank’s pension fund.

With pension schemes in most companies in trouble, the scenario at Anglo could hardly be rosier. For a change, despite the scandalous performance behind the scenes at the rogue bank, Anglo seems to have made some sensible investment decisions regarding the pension scheme.

While some at the bank were screwing the rest of us, the operation of the pension fund is a rare example of prudent risk management, something taxpayers may find hard to swallow.
