Job for the media

IN your editorial (October 26), you note that our public institutions lack real teeth and we need a new authority with power and resources to establish accountability in this country.

But is this not the function of the media? Instead of waiting for others to begin this work, perhaps journalists and editors should take some initiative themselves.
