The ‘Republican party’ that ran a state primarily for the profit of 300 or so of its cronies, bankrupted it just 10 years into its first period of prosperity in its sad history, handed over its hard-won independence and turned it into one big debt-servicing plantation for international bankers and bondholders in the process.
