Ban all travel expenses

I HAVE an idea that I think would save this country a lot of money.

It is that anyone who receives a salary for doing a job not be given travel expenses for commuting to and from the workplace.

If anyone objects to this, then I am sure there are hundreds of unemployed people who would be perfectly happy to do the job for the same salary but without the travel expenses. This should apply to everyone, public servants and private citizens alike.

If one is lucky enough to have a job, factor in the cost of getting to and from work as part of the expenses involved. Who knows, we might see a lot more car-sharing and use of public transport.
