A CONVICTED rapist and confessed attempted murderer who showed no remorse and who refused all offers of rehabilitation is granted 25% remission for good behaviour while in prison.

To dispel suspicions of cynical and meaningless inflation of sentencing, it might be helpful at this time for the Department of Justice to outline precisely the percentage of prisoners who fail to qualify for what appears to be automatic early release.
