Abuse of the system

MANY will think it quite extraordinary that this Government (or indeed any government) could dare withhold the right of citizens to political representation by refusing to move the writ for no less than three by-elections.

Why have TDs at all? This is an abuse of the system in a blatant attempt to stymie the possibility of the Government losing power.

It is one more area where there is constitutional failure requiring an amendment or, better still, an entirely new constitution altogether.
