Council staff moved from work to the dole

IN the current economic recession there seem to be only two choices available to us – extra taxation or cutbacks.

However, I believe there is another way – reallocation of funds. It is ridiculous to have a situation where local authorities are obliged to let staff go.

Is there any sense in a system whereby when money runs out in one department and staff are let go, they join another department and are paid for doing nothing?
