Pension not only for farm wives

I AM amazed and saddened at the blatant inaccuracies in your leading article (‘Farm pensions U-turn. Decision is wrong and inequitable’, April 9).

Firstly, the heading is grossly misleading — the pension referred to is not a farm pension and neither is it inequitable.

It is the pension of spouses of self-employed who are or have been working in partnership in any commercial business. It is not confined to any one group.
