Gormley should be next for the chop
Next up on the chopping block should be John Gormley, leader of the Green party, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, and the one person who has set back the enforcement of environment legislation in this country by at least 15 years.
This he has done by overseeing a drastic reduction in the number of environment technicians at local government level, leaving behind a skeleton staff in many county councils.
And this despite the fact that his party’s environment policy states it will “invest in local government environmental enforcement capacity”.
Now step forward, if you please, Mr Gormley.
