Media commentators reap budget reward?
Social welfare recipients, public servants and the children of the state have to stump up for most of the cuts in the budget. The big earners in the private sector – those on, say, three to four times the average industrial salary, or over – pay next to nothing. Is it a coincidence that many of the commentators and journalists who railed against social welfare payments and the public sector fall into the category that has paid next to nothing in the budget.
I think not.
