I WAS astounded by your report (November 10) indicating that the Revenue is agreeing to write off fiduciary taxes in the manner outlined.

This would appear a most dangerous precedent for the future, not to mention “sloping the playing field” on the numerous businesses, particularly in the service sector, which are endeavouring to pay off their taxes in the normal manner. Without being privy to the financial statements, I understand there are a number of hotels involved. What about a partial sale of assets? How were these assets financed initially?

This would appear to be robbing Peter to pay Paul, but who is going to repay Peter?
