Going places

AS a small, not-for-profit voluntary organisation, and conscious of all the negative publicity regarding expenses for overseas trips paid for by taxpayers, I have a dilemma regarding an application I received last Thursday for expenses to cover a two-day visit to a conference in Britain by a member of our organisation.

Total cost, including conference fees, Ryanair flights, accommodation and all land travel comes to €270.

Given the current climate, is this excessive?
