Doubts about vaccine

YOUR report headlined ‘Nurses warned to get swine flu vaccine’ (August 24) highlights the fact that many nurses in Britain are rejecting the vaccine because of concerns over its safety while pointing out that the advice of the HSE is that nurses here have a responsibility to get it in order to protect others from infection.

Surely the irony of this logic is that those who get the vaccine have nothing to fear from those who don’t.

There are increasing concerns about this vaccine and, given the history of serious adverse effects of previous flu vaccines, people have a right to exercise self-determination on the matter.
