AS the owner of a hair salon and an employer of seven full-time staff, paying VAT and PAYE, I am furious about your so-called money-saving tip ‘Ask you hairdresser to do your hair at home’ (June 25).

How on earth can business survive with this attitude? We pay rent, insurance, water rates, wages, etc, and contribute heavily to government coffers even though business has slowed.

The black market economy is not the answer. My staff have bills to pay and need their jobs. Is that my responsibility? Yes, and it is one I take seriously.
