CIÉ glosses over service deficiencies

CIÉ should stop trying to gloss over the glaring deficiencies in its services and adopt more concise definitions of what it actually provides.

For instance, virtually every Dublin Bus vehicle carries the slogan ‘Serving the entire community’.

Since the company axed numerous routes in recent months this statement is no longer completely valid. Not all of these routes should have been axed and the fact that they were shows a blatant disregard for the social role of public transport provision.
