Community hospital worth fighting for

I SUPPORT the staff of Killarney Community Hospital (KCH) in their fight against downgrade. My experience of the service provided by the hospital is through the care an uncle who passed away peacefully there last month.

The care he received there was exceptional in its professionalism and kindness. When he finally realised he could no longer continue to live with his illness in his own home, he was reassured to know he was going to KCH as he had been a patient there previously and always praised the care he had received. He died there with dignity in the loving care of family and nurses.

I cannot speak highly enough of the caring atmosphere in the hospital. The high standard of hygiene and the general appearance of the place is excellent.
