Suing the bank is part of our ‘compo’ culture

YOUR report (January 22) that some people want to sue Anglo-Irish Bank shows that the ‘compo’ culture still lives in Ireland.

First it was army deafness claims that cost the state millions with a lot of the money going to smart lawyers. Now some of them want people to sue the Anglo Irish Bank.

As the taxpayer now owns the bank, once again the public will have to foot the bill if any such cases prove to be successful.
