Drivers who think they’re above the law

I DROVE 1,000 miles or so around Ireland over seven days recently.

I rarely drive so much and it was a real pleasure, except for one thing — why do English and Northern Irish drivers believe themselves immune to the driving laws of this State?

They come up behind you too fast and too close, they don’t use indicators, they use slip roads as lay-bys, race through towns, overtake dangerously and then try to get back into the lane with mere feet to spare.
