Menace of dioxins — when will we ever learn?
The Government, however, is still obsessed with inviting a Belgian firm to Cork Harbour to incinerate European toxic waste under our noses, leading to further exposure to dioxins for people, animals and plants. The residual waste will then be put into landfill which will remain in the earth for centuries.
The Government is looking to Belgium for advice on a similar dioxin problem there in 1999. A report into that incident showed that municipal solid waste incineration accounted for nearly 60% of dioxin emissions in 1993. Incineration is an outdated scam. Even my cat knows that if you burn something, it doesn’t miraculously disappear.
