WE have been treated to so much obfuscation about dioxins in the food chain that I had to consult the World Health Organisation (WHO) website to get objective information.

Although it seems impossible to avoid exposure to dioxins completely, it is no trivial matter when they’re ingested as food.

As the WHO explains: “Short-term exposure of humans to high levels of dioxins may result in skin lesions such as chloracne and patchy darkening of the skin, and altered liver function.”
