Kenny takes a step in the right direction

FINE GAEL leader Enda Kenny is to be congratulated on his proposal to accept a salary cut for himself and his frontbench.

The proposed cut of €5,000 each will not do much to ease our financial woes, but it is a step in the right direction.

FG may well be in with a chance of winning the next election if they carry this through. We badly need our politicians to lead by example after years of Fianna Fáil’s self-serving recklessness for which they will punish others with a harsh budget.
