Take the alternative route and save millions

AS a taxpayer interested in national planning and wanting to see everyone get value for money, why can’t we have a less elaborate and far less costly road that that currently proposed for the N20 between Blarney in Co Cork and Patrickswell in Co Limerick?

Take the alternative route and save millions

I am convinced that a road like the Croom bypass, with bypasses at Charleville and Buttevant, would be more than adequate, but if the decision-makers insist on a dual carriageway, why not have it by upgrading most of the present road?

The section between Blarney and Mallow has three lanes in many places and there is adequate room for another lane, plus a right-hand turning lane. within the NRA’s current boundaries.
