Agencies should be scrapped — not merged

AS we now have 207 Government agencies, or quangos, in addition to 114 local authorities and town councils, proposals to merge the Equality Authority with the Human Rights Commission and the Data Protection Commission is a cruel waste as these agencies should never have been created in the first place.

Government departments and local authorities could do what these three agencies and the other quangos are supposed to be doing.

I do not believe that merging agencies is going to save the taxpayer any money.
