We were asked the wrong question

The Lisbon Treaty referendum can be challenged and made invalid due to the meaningless use of the Irish language, supposedly the first official language of this State.

We were asked the wrong question

The word ‘tá’ does not mean ‘yes’, as every schoolboy knows. Tá means there is or there are.

‘Níl’ does not mean ‘no’ as every schoolgirl knows. It means there is not or there are not. That our politicians all the way up to members of the cabinet cannot even use two words of Irish correctly is astounding.
