Ganley wiped the floor with political big guns

THE no victory is truly remarkable when you consider that that all Dáil members except six or seven were in the yes camp.

The leader of the Libertas group, Declan Ganley, has to be commended for conducting a very honest campaign in which the mudslinging came from the yes side, especially Fianna Fáil.

Their tactics actually helped me to make up my mind to vote no and I wasn’t impressed either when they used their very big brass necks to question the financial sources of the no campaign. Mr Ganley wiped the floor with some of our leading politicians and that to me was indicative of the contempt they have for the electorate.

We voters should pat ourselves on the back for not letting the Government bully us into a yes vote. That makes me proud to be Irish first and maybe a European second.
