EAMON GILMORE referred to the anti-Lisbon campaign as an “intolerant and unrepresentative minority” (June 2).

His view is itself the very essence of intolerance and the antithesis of real democracy.

The most recent standings of the Labour Party show it attaining 10% of overall support ratings among the electorate. Would Mr Gilmore suggest that his own party is an unrepresentative minority among the 90% of people who do not support Labour’s policies?
