European integration: when can we vote on it?
Can he, as a Irish MEP and Fine Gael member, explain how far this integration is to go and when are we going to be consulted about Ireland being integrated into a European state.
We signed up for an economic union in 1972. What we have now is a massive expansion of the EU and deeper integration, far beyond what we initially signed up to.
This may be what Irish citizens will want, but it should have been debated and agreed upon before any Lisbon Treaty was put to the vote.
Otherwise there is something deceptive about the treaty, as when we heard about diplomatic emails concerning suppression of potentially negative EU news from member states before the referendum.
