Agony of Anne-Marie

YOU carried a picture (January 29) of Anne-Marie Kelleher, aged 12, who suffers from a spinal curvature illness called Rett syndrome.

Agony of Anne-Marie

She has 70% curvature of her spine and requires medication “just one step under morphine” for the excruciating pain.

She has been waiting for surgery since last spring in the National Children’s Hospital in Crumlin. How can anyone look at this child and not immediately say, “let’s send her to England where she can have the treatment under the National Treatment Purchase Fund”?
