A&E is a casualty

THE A&E facilities in the Mercy University Hospital, Cork, lie unused.

A&E is a casualty

Management has said how many staff are needed, but the HSE says it’s too many. Consequently the facilities remain closed.

Who is doing the managing? Why appoint managers if the HSE is going to contradict and second-guess their decisions? It amazes me that HSE cannot understand we now have a larger population and so we need more hospital services. Is this too simple a diagnosis for our health service?
