Just the word for it

YEARS ago there used be a word commonly used in Dublin that we don’t hear so much these days: ‘messers’.

It was a word used to describe those who would habitually make a mess of anything they got involved in.

The behaviour could be driven by fecklessness, incompetence, mischievousness, selfishness, or any combination of these.

Why does the word spring back to mind when one considers the health services?
