Bluffing game

THE recent postponement of the Aer Lingus strike on the night before it was due to begin was about as useful to the intending passengers as a restaurant serving up meals after the diners had gone home.

Most of the intending passengers would have already made alternative arrangements.

This bluffing game cost the pilots not a penny or a wink of sleep, while their antics spoiled the holiday and business arrangements of thousands of people — the pawns in their dispute.
