Shameful decision
This was surely a case for the humanitarian acceptance of the family into Irish society.
I remember the special connection between Ireland and Nigeria. I remember collecting and giving money for the education of Nigerian children. I remember the hundreds of Irish priests and nuns who worked in Nigeria and who told the people of that country that God loved them and that the people of Ireland loved them. That is until they turned to us and asked us for help in their hour of need. Shame.
