Who can solve the Chinese water puzzle?

I AM fully aware we are now living in a multicultural society, which is a good thing.

I am also aware we are living in a polylingual society, which is also a good thing.

But can anyone please explain to me the advertisement in the Irish Examiner, (Money & Jobs, August 10) requiring a waterjet machine operator for a granite and marble company who must be able to speak fluent Chinese and English

I know we live in a specialised work society now, but surely there can’t be a plethora of Chinese waterjet machine operators with marble and granite experience in this country.

But, then, maybe we have a vast quantity of the aforementioned specialists, and I need to get out more.
